The Designer’s Guide to Modern Chandelier Placement
How do I choose the right size chandelier?
To find the perfect diameter, add the length and width of your room in feet. The sum in inches is a good estimate for the chandelier's diameter. For example, a 12' x 14' room would best suit a 26-inch wide chandelier. If hanging over a table, aim for the fixture to be half to two-thirds the width of the table.
What is the ideal hanging height for a foyer chandelier?
In a grand entryway, the bottom of the chandelier should be at least 7 feet above the floor. If you have a two-story foyer, align the fixture so it is visible from the second-floor landing or centered within a large window to maximize curb appeal.
Are modern chandeliers dimmable?
Most of our modern LED chandeliers and incandescent fixtures are compatible with dimmer switches. We highly recommend installing a dimmer to allow you to transition from bright, functional "task lighting" to a soft, ambient glow for evening entertaining.
H3: Should I choose a linear or round chandelier?
Linear chandeliers are designed for elongated spaces, such as dining tables or large kitchen islands. Round or tiered chandeliers work best in square or circular rooms, or as a focal point in a bedroom or living room.
